Making Your School Something Special
We live in a special time. Opportunities abound for staff and students to make what happens in and beyond classrooms both more engaging and more effective, while taking advantage of connections to dynamic schools around the world. Additionally, the tools that allow taking these steps are much more easily mastered than teachers typically know. We will explore how campus and team leaders can foster an exploratory and collaborative professional environment to take advantage of these opportunities to better connect with the larger community, substantially enrich the experiences of the students, and build the professional team at your school.

Being Both a Professional Educator and a Community Leader
As educators, we sometimes see how we can exhibit leadership roles on campus, but only rarely do we step out to contribute our talents as part of the community. This doesn't mean that one has to run for office; teachers can can make a difference for those near and far in a variety of ways, and those efforts can be personally and professionally rewarding. We'll look at several approaches to getting involved in your community, and at the same time how doing so can help students see their possibilities for making a difference.

Going from Visible to Present & Engaged as a School Leader
One of the challenges I have encountered as an educational leader is transitioning from being a visible leader to a present and engaged one. A leader who not only walks into classrooms but spends time in classrooms and engages in meaningful conversations with students, teachers and families to ensure that there is continuity across all grades and that the learning is meaningful and transparent.
